Some important information for first time visitors.

If you have never been to California Jets at Buttonwillow, this guide will help answer a few questions that you may have. We want you to spend the day and have fun watching these amazing model aircraft. One way to help make that possible is by being prepared. Below are a few points that will help you better enjoy the experience.

Dress comfortably.
The valley can get very warm. We hold our event at a time of the year that typically is very sunny and mild, between 70 and 80 degrees. Shorts and t-shirts are the order of the day with a sweatshirt or light jacket at the ready as the sun goes down.
The ground at the event is mostly dusty and, in spots, uneven. Wearing proper footwear will make traversing the event more comfortable.

What does it cost?
Admission to California Jets is just $5 per vehicle. Once you have paid at the entrance, there is ample parking a short distance from the flightline.

What should I bring?
We highly suggest that you bring a few things with you. Here is a list of some items you might want to consider.
Sunscreen, Lawn Chairs, Sun Hat, Camera, Sun Glasses.

Is food available?
There is onsite concessions at the event that offers food, water, sodas and snacks for sale at reasonable prices. You can purchase hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, chips, etc. There is a large tented dining area where you can enjoy your lunch in the shade.
Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on site.

How do I get to the event?
Elkhills Buttonwillow is approximately 8 miles west of Interstate 5 and
